SAFE SPACE POLICY
The mission of the Sheboygan Children & Teen's Book Festival is to foster a love of reading and inspire young readers, writers, and artists by offering a wide array of dynamic, free public events featuring outstanding creators of books for children and teens. We are committed to making this festival a safe and enjoyable experience for all involved that is free of harassment for participants regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, age, religion, nationality or social class. We expect all festival staff and presenters to abide by the Sheboygan Children and Teen’s Book Festival Safe Space Policy leading up to the festival and during the event in meetings, in communications and interactions of all forms.
While attending or volunteering for the Sheboygan Children and Teen’s Book Festival, you agree to help create spaces that are, and feel, as safe as possible for everyone by respecting other people’s physical and social boundaries.
WE ASK ALL WHO ARE TAKING PART IN THE FESTIVAL TO AGREE TO:
Be respectful and courteous towards others
Ask before touching another individual or their belongings
Understand that “no” means NO.

HARASSMENT POLICY AND REPORTING
The Sheboygan Children and Teen’s Book Festival is committed to running events that are as free from harassment as possible. If you feel you or another are being harassed at any time during the event, please speak to a festival representative or contact the festival organizers at info@SheboyganCountyReads.org, so they may be of assistance to you and take corrective action as needed to protect attendees. The Sheboygan Children and Teen’s Book Festival reserves the right to expel anyone failing to meet the expectations of this policy from the festival.
DEFINITION OF HARASSMENT
"Harassment" is acting in a manner that is disturbing or upsetting to others. That includes and is not limited to: making offensive comments, stalking and making inappropriate physical contact.
