CHILDREN & TEEN’S BOOK FESTIVAL WILL FEATURE THE AWARD WINNING AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR, GRACE LIN.
Sheboygan (March 5, 2018) - Sheboygan County Reads!, the non-profit organization which promotes the love of books and reading among local youngsters and teenagers, has revealed the first presenter for the 2018 Sheboygan Children and Teen’s Book Festival. The book festival, set to take place October 12-14, will feature Grace Lin.
Grace Lin, a NY Times bestselling author/ illustrator, won the Newbery Honor for Where the Mountain Meets the Moon and the Theodor Geisel Honor for Ling & Ting. Her most recent novel, When the Sea Turned to Silver, was a National Book Award Finalist. Grace Lin is also a commentator for New England Public Radio, a reviewer for the NY Times, a video essayist for PBS NewsHour, and the speaker of the popular TEDx talk, “The Windows and Mirrors of Your Child’s Bookshelf.” In 2016, Grace’s art was displayed at the White House where Grace, herself, was recognized by President Obama’s office as a Champion of Change for Asian American and Pacific Islander Art and Storytelling.
Grace Lin will bring her passion for reading, writing and art to the events in October. Her presence is more than certain to entertain and inspire.
