2018 SHEBOYGAN CHILDREN & TEEN’S BOOK FESTIVAL TO FEATURE ERIC WIGHT AND DEBORAH ZEMKE
Sheboygan (June 14, 2018) - Sheboygan County Reads!, the non-profit organization which promotes the love of books and reading among local youngsters and teenagers, has revealed two additional presenters for the 2018 Sheboygan Children and Teen’s Book Festival. The book festival, set to take place October 12-14, will include authors/illustrators Deborah Zemke and Eric Wight.
Deborah Zemke has created more than fifty books for young readers, including the award-winning Bea Garcia chapter books and the popular Doodles at Dinner series. Zemke has illustrated books for authors such as Natasha Wing, Harriet Zeifert, Lori Degman, and Ian Lendler. Deborah’s latest books are Bea Garcia, Tale of a Scaredy Dog and The Absolutely, Positively No Princesses Book, written by Ian Lendler. A native of Michigan, Deborah and her family have lived in Wisconsin, California, Alabama, and Missouri.
Eric Wight is an author, illustrator, and animation director. His first book, My Dead Girlfriend, was nominated for the 2008 Best Graphic Novel of the Year Award by the Young Adult Library Services Association. In 2004, Wight won the Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award for his illustration work in The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist, the comic book adaptation of Michael Chabon's Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. Wight is the author and illustrator of the Frankie Pickle chapter books and the illustrator of the funny and charming picture books, Everyone Loves Cupcake and Everyone Loves Bacon, both written by Kelly DiPucchio.
