2017 Sheboygan Children & Teen’s Book Festival Poster Illustration Revealed

SHEBOYGAN (May 31 2017) — Sheboygan County Reads!, the non-profit organization which promotes the love of books and reading among local youngsters and teens, has revealed the poster for the 2017 Sheboygan Children & Teen’s Book Festival.

The poster illustration was created especially for the book festival by one of this year’s author/illustrators, Mike Lowery. The illustration features a book-reading Carl the Duck, a character from Lowery’s Doodle Adventures series. The Doodle Adventure books encourage readers to write and draw in the books, making themselves part of the adventure.

The theme of the 2017 Sheboygan Children & Teen’s book festival is Twists & Turns, highlighting plot twists, changing directions, journeys of discovery, and more. Festival organizers believe Lowery has perfectly captured the essence of the theme with his poster illustration.

Lowery lives in Atlanta, Georgia where, in addition to illustrating and writing children’s books, he co-runs Paper Ghost Studio.

For more information about the festival on October 13-15, visit sheboyganchildrensbookfestival.org and sheboyganteenbookfestival.org.
