Author & Illustrator
Jon Agee is the author/illustrator of many picture books for children, including It’s Only Stanley, Life on Mars, Lion Lessons, Milo's Hat Trick, and Little Santa. He is also the author/illustrator of popular wordplay books, among them, Go Hang a Salami! I'm a Lasagna Hog! and Orangutan Tons: Poems to Tangle Your Tongue. His newest book, due out in October, is The Wall in the Middle of the Book.
Jon grew up along the Hudson River in Nyack, New York and went to college at The Cooper Union School of Art in New York City, where he studied painting and filmmaking. Agee lives with his wife, Audrey, in San Francisco.

Q1: OUR THEME THIS YEAR IS HERE'S AN IDEA! WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE SPACE FOR PONDERING IDEAS?
Jon: The couch. I lie on it (like a large, gelatinous creature), with a pen and pad of paper.
Q2: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL?
Jon: In high school it was English and Art. In college it was Film.
Q3: WHAT ONE THING WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN TO DO?
Jon: Play the piano.

Jon: I always enjoyed writing and illustrating stories. I never planned to be an author or an illustrator, until suddenly, I was.
